Game Of Thrones, series 1 (more soon…).
Naked Gendry appreciation post
-This- close to seeing some dick.
“We were meant to rule together (…) It’s not too late. I have a son, you have a daughter.”
FLIES OFF INTO THE SUN BECAUSE I AM SO DONE
The director ships it.
“I’ll clear this up right now. Gendry’s “my lady” line is about their class difference.
Glad so many of you enjoyed the episode.
Oh my lord. Did people seriously…?
People know what Gendry meant. I think it’s pretty straightforward. They just were enjoying the potential for shippy double meaning there.
That’s kind of how I feel about the situation. Shipping is largely about seeing what you want to see in a story, when it isn’t literal. I understand that the line is about class difference, but why should that stop me from getting excited and daydreaming about Gendry having romantic feelings? Really, if in every story we read/heard, it was only about what was obvious and literal, there’d be very little shipping in fandom.
More importantly, shipping is about having fun with one’s romantic imagination. Do we really need to be criticizing other people’s fun? I, personally, am not in fandom to be “right” about something, or more right than someone else, I’m just here to have fun, and I have fun by shipping this ship.
Reblogging this scene again, because just fucking look at Gendry’s face and his feelings.
Post with 1 note
…where I go in to work, check my email, blah blah blah, but can’t concentrate because really all I can think about is HOW FUCKING GREAT last night’s Game of Thrones was, and I just end up reading Tumblr and comment threads all morning instead of getting anything done.
I really had to pause my HBO Go stream after my scene and collect my emotions and try not to squee too loud because HOLY SHIT THE FEELS.
I showed this one to my deathly nut allergic SO. No joke, that shit would kill someone.
Say what you will about the TV-version age difference. In her mind, Maisie totally ships it.
